Description du projet

SuckMT is a multithreaded replacement for suck that uses client NNTP to download news messages from a news server. It automatically balances the download of all news items over several NNTP socket connections, thus actually using a lot more of the available bandwidth. SuckMT includes kill/keep rules that are regular expressions which can optionally be case insensitive. Statistics are kept how often and when a kill/keep rule was matched for the last time. To upload new messages back to the NNTP server you will still need tools from the suck package.

An uninitialized memory read was removed from the regular expression library. DuplicatesChecker.cpp now #includes "unistd.h". The alarm call was removed from GenericSocket.cpp, which hopefully solves the SIG_ALRM problem. The regfree call was removed from HeaderMatcher.cpp, which hopefully solves some unexplained crashes. The mutexes have been rearranged in MultiStream.cpp because of race conditions. It is now possible to use a "no posting" server. Compiler flags for IRIX have been added to the Makefile (not fully tested). The ini file can now contain comments that will be written back again. The ability to limit the maximum messages per group download was added. The installation procedure now automagically includes a working config file.
