Cette première version est un portage plutôt aveugle de l'utilitaire basé sur le C bsdiff. Une grosse majorité du code a été porté sur Java sans aucune modification. Il est possible d'optimisation (la bsdiff C est deux fois plus vite que JBDiff). Le format de fichier diff utilisé est similaire mais actuellement pas compatible avec bsdiff. Le présent communiqué comprend un outil de ligne de commande pour faire un diff et d'appliquer le patch. Il ya aussi une méthode adaptée pour incorporation dans des programmes autres que ce sera accepter des objets java.io.File comme arguments.

This first release is a rather blind port of the C based bsdiff utility. A vast bulk of the code has been ported to Java without any modification. There is scope for optimization (the C bsdiff is twice as fast as JBDiff). The diff file format used is similar to but currently not compatible with bsdiff. This release comprises a command line tool to make a diff and to apply the patch. There is also a method suitable for incorporation in other programs that that will accept Java.io.File objects as arguments.
