plugmon is a basic system monitoring utility with
minimal configuration requirements. Filesystems,
kernel messages, and daemons are monitored from a
standalone binary that only requires an email
address as configuration. It can be started from
an init script or a cronjob. No central service is
needed. It aims to give a minimum of false alarms.
