Description du projet

Grml is a live system (live CD) based on Debian. It includes a collection of GNU/Linux software especially for system administrators and users of texttools. It provides automatic hardware detection and its default shell is the zsh. You can use it e.g. as a rescue system, for analyzing systems/networks, or as a working environment. It is not necessary to install anything to a hard disk; you don't even need a hard disk to run it. Due to on-the-fly decompression, it includes more than 2 GB of software and documentation on the CD.

Cette version comporte le noyau Linux 2.6.31 et plusieurs modules supplémentaires. 67 nouveaux logiciels ont été ajoutés. Les nouvelles fonctionnalités comprennent bootsplash vesamenu, qui fournit un facile à utiliser la sélection du menu de démarrage. L'image ISO peut être installé dans un dispositif utilisant directement un dd. Etherboot / gPXE et GRUB ont été intégrés dans le menu de démarrage. L'option de démarrage "ethdevice" speficies un périphérique réseau pour booter sur le réseau (PXE) au lieu du défaut. L'option de démarrage "netscript» provoque un script qui doit être téléchargé et exécuté à partir d'un emplacement spécifique.
This release features Linux kernel 2.6.31 and several additional modules. 67 new software packages were added. New features include vesamenu bootsplash, which provides an easy-to-use boot selection menu. The ISO image can be installed to a device directly using dd. Etherboot/gPXE and GRUB were integrated in the bootmenu. The boot option "ethdevice" speficies a network device for network booting (PXE) instead of the default. The boot option "netscript" causes a script to be downloaded and run from a specific location.
